Dr. Ben Clark is an Infectious Disease Specialist with appointments at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle hospital, Peel Health Campus, and St John of God hospital Murdoch.
Dr. Clark obtained his medical degree at University of Liverpool (UK)and a diploma from the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (UK)before completing his infectious Diseases and General medical training in Sheffield, UK. In 2010, he received fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (infectious diseases). He has been the clinical lead of the Musculoskeletal Infection team at Fremantle and Fiona Stanley Hospital group since 2014, currently managing over 250 inpatients per year.
Dr. Clark has published several papers in esteemed peer reviewed journals on topics including aetiology and management of periprosthetic joint infection and has also authored book chapters on topics including optimal antibiotic treatment for shoulder periprosthetic joint infection and preoperative skin treatments prior to primary or revision shoulder arthroplasty. Dr. Clark has also presented at numerous conferences around Australia and to international audiences.
He was a member of the PIANO and PIANO-FORTE working groups and is currently a member of the ROADMAP Surgical Domain Specific Working Group.
Outside of musculoskeletal infections he is a keen nature photographer, winning local and national competitions (@cloudtogroundimages) and is a rugby league tragic.
