David Dewar is a clinical orthopaedic surgeon who has a research interest in reducing complications from orthopaedic surgery. He operates electively on lower limb arthritis and emergently on orthopaedic trauma. He also manages complex infections and is the orthopaedic lead in the district infection meeting and the University research program.
He completed his PhD through the University of Newcastle on the systemic response to severe trauma. He has written multiple peer reviewed papers, book chapters and local and national guidelines. He supervises doctors in training and PhD students.
He enjoys family time and riding anything with wheels.
